I've been trying to find information about WB Goddard's light fixtures for years, never finding much online. Dad once found one of his pieces on Ebay, but other than that I haven't had much luck. Until now! I found a site that has seven patents filed under Wilfred B Goddard. You can download the patent paperwork in full, including beautiful technical drawings and elaborate descriptions here at www.freepatentsonline.com - you have to register, then click on the patent search and in the "inventor" box enter Wilfred B Goddard. I can also email you all the PDF's if you are interested. There's a lot of information!
Here's a little taste:
If anyone knows more about WB Goddard and his creative endeavors, I am extremely interested!

wow Theresa - that is so cool. I have always wondered about those too. I remember Grandma talking about them, but I have never seen any pictures or drawings.

okay, you can get all the info at the US patent website, but their search engine is tricky. you must type in:
IN/goddard-wilfred-b
and his patents will come up. So, am I reading it right, or did he invent the light switch??? Or is it just a different type of light switch?

On further thought, if that were true, wouldn't we all be filthy rich with trust funds?

i dont know if the light switch would make us all filthy rich, but that would be SWEET!!

Theresa, you should e-mail uncle Dick Goddard. I don't know his e-mail but I bet Dad or Tim does. He is the one who would know and he also probably has a lot of Wilfred's old work. I used to visit them occasionally in college and they are very friendly and would probably love to hear from you.
